  1. Conflict Catcher II Demo - requires System 7 or later.

  3. • Installation Instructions
  4. =========================

  6. 1) If you are currently using another startup software manager then:
  7.          a) Write down the startup software load order which you are currently using.
  8.          b) Write down which startup files are disabled.
  9.                             - You may also want to write down any sets or links you have previously created.
  10.          c) Use your current startup software manager to enable ALL of your startup software.
  11.          d) Disable your current startup software manager (along with anything else that manages StartUp files, controls startup software reordering and/or controls ICON wrapping) by dragging it and any related startup files to the desktop.

  13. 2) Drag the files Conflict Catcher™ and Conflict Extension™ to the ICON of your System Folder.

  15. 3) Restart your Macintosh.
  16.  
  17. 4) The first time Conflict Catcher loads, it will automatically open at boot time.
  18.  
  19. From the Conflict Catcher window:
  20.         a) Disable any startup files that were previously disabled.
  21.         b) Reorder your startup software, rebuild your sets, and re-create any links.
  22.         c) Hit OK and the load process will resume.

  24. •  Opening Conflict Catcher

  26. To open Conflict Catcher II, double-click the Control Panel, or hold down the spacebar while starting up your Macintosh.

  30. Conflict Catcher II comes equipped with a comprehensive on-line help system which you can access by clicking on the "?" button in the Control Panel.  For your convenience Balloon Help is also available for most of the commands in Conflict Catcher II.

  32. • Conflict Catcher Extras folder contains:
  33. Bomber
  34. Bomber's only purpose is to aid the conflict testing tutorial on page 7 of the manual. When loaded, this CDEV will bring up a FAKE error message on your screen at startup. When the window comes up, you can choose to continue the startup process or restart. See the conflict testing tutorial section of the manual for more information.

  36. Do not use Bomber if you are running a conflict test for a problem you are currently experiencing.
